Assetminder made substantial investments in new features and platform innovations that better enable our customers to schedule, track and manage the maintenance on their fleet. In 2019, our development team was laser focused on:
- Building the most user fleet maintenance solution available today
- Better enabling Assetminder end users to track inspections and defects in real time in the field using our mobile app
- Connecting Assetminder to more software and hardware solutions via the API
2019 Major Release Highlights:

The team at Assetminder is excited to announce some of the cool new features and improvements we’re working on in 2020 to make Assetminder even better. Here are 9 examples of things we’re working on in 2020:
1. Knowledge Centre
Business runs 24/7 so it’s important to have access to the information needed quickly. In 2020, we will launch our brand new Knowledge Centre so users can access the information they need, whenever they need it.
With a real-time integration between fleet telematics systems and Assetminder, consumption data such as odometer readings can be pulled from the vehicle and sent to Assetminder to automatically trigger mileage-based PMs. In 2020, Assetminder will be adding some additional telematics systems such as Bluetree.
Assetminder offers a suite of industry reports that fleet managers use to track work, check costs, review historical records, and analyze maintenance effectiveness. This year, we plan on building on that standard list by adding more data rich reports; enabling fleet managers to further analyse maintenance operations and make informed decisions.
As Assetminder is cloud-based fleet maintenance software, our team is responsible for the security of our infrastructure and customer data. Make no bones about it – we take security very seriously. Our development team work to best practices and global standards in security. In 2020, we will be making a host of security improvements to further protect against intrusion and unauthorized access.
5. Improved Planner
Enhanced functionality to the maintenance planner module will enable organizations to add vehicle repair lines/bays at repair workshops, also called VMUs. Repairs can be assigned to the asset but the work could be scheduled at the repair bay in the workshop. This will help ensure workshops and workshop repair bays are fully utilized; thus maximizing labour productivity.
End users will get visibility on axle maps when recording brake/wheel meter values. This will help reduce data entry errors and ensure meter are logged against the correct brake/wheel location.
7. Hire Module
The hire module will enable rental organizations to track hire revenue, hired vehicle servicing, damage to hired vehicle, end of life of hired vehicles, and hire vehicle profitability.
8. Sales Module
Track vehicle purchases, vendor, lifecycle costs, revenue generated from hiring, sale of vehicles, and resultant profit over the life of the vehicle.
9. NFC integration
When a mobile app is native, the app developer can integrate the functionality on the phone into the app. For example, many apps let you open the camera, take photos, and save the photos in the app. This year, Assetminder will add NFC functionality (Near Field Communications). The driver will simply wave their mobile device by their badge and the asset tag on the vehicle, and the system will automatically read the tags electronically and open the correct inspection record. This will eliminate the need to search through lists so speeds up the inspection process.
