Glanbia is an international dairy processor and food ingredients group. Employing over 5,000 people in 29 countries and with a turnover of €3.2Bn in 2013, it is one of the leading global suppliers of dairy-based ingredients to the food and beverage industry and is Ireland’s largest milk processor.

Glanbia were looking for a fleet management solution that would provide them with key management information about the condition, maintenance and repair of its fleet of milk tankers, thereby fulfilling a corporate objective of having the safest fleet in Ireland, and achieving full compliance with the  Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Act, with its enhanced focus on safety and the obligations of fleet owners and operators.

Glanbia outsource the maintenance of their tanker fleet to a number of third-party vehicle maintenance workshops, and therefore required a solution that would allow 3rd parties to access their vehicle maintenance database via a secure link.

Glanbia chose Assetminder as the only product capable of meeting its exacting standards and at the same time, providing an innovative, secure and comprehensive solution for managing the relationship with the workshops.

Assetminder’s cloud based Vendor Management module addresses a critical need for Glanbia, viz. how to outsource the maintenance and inspection of the fleet while at the same time, ensuring that the fleet database holds a comprehensive history for each vehicle.

Vendor Management allows Glanbia to assign work to a workshop, obtain a quotation before authorising work, and manage budgets, approvals and sign-off’s. A third-party workshop can record instructions, parts and labour (and all of the associated costs) for all jobs carried out on Glanbia’s fleet on the system. This then updates the vehicle history file, eliminating paperwork, reducing administration cost, and thus reducing the total cost of ownership, whilst increasing uptime and asset availability, and ensuring compliance & safety.

Everyone in the Assetminder maintenance supply chain ecosystem has access to information about the asset, its service history, current problem, service/repair status and estimated repair completion time. This 360-degree visibility ensures that the asset gets repaired correctly the first time and gets back on the road as quickly as possible.
